Omorovicza Face

I have a fondness for Omorovicza. I like the skin care and the body care very much, I like the packaging, and I like the website, informative, elegant. I also like the makeup, very much. When I want to feel as if I am informative and elegant, this is what I use.

From left to right Mineral Concealer, Complexion Perfector BB Cream SPF20, Complexion Corrector SPF20.

I have swatched them below in a somewhat back to front order, but the same as pictured above, Mineral Concealer, Complexion Perfector and Complexion Corrector.

Taking each product in order of application the Complexion Corrector is quite white when pumped out, it is thin in texture, a bit like thinned out single cream. On my skin imparts a luminosity as well as blurring the redness, the dark spots, the open pores, the thread veins, the blackheads, the ravages of my ageing skin. I use it most days under any base product which is my current squeeze. I have a back up.

The Complexion Perfector looks rather dark on my swatch and I remember when I purchased this first time without trying it, and gulping apprehensively as this dark putty coloured liquid was pumped out - somewhat magically it transforms into my shade on application, a little goes an extremely long way. It is the only product which when I have worn it my husband has commented that my skin looked amazing. My shade is light.

The Mineral Concealer comes in a slim, stick form, I have the shade light. It is quite dry in texture but is not drying, it is quite yellow but that counteracts my redness or at least neutralises it rather than making me look too yellow. It lasts.

This is not a cheap range, it is a considered purchase for me, but I have purchased the Complexion Corrector and the Complexion Corrector twice, and I am still a fraction of the way through my Mineral Concealer. Whilst I do not use these products exclusively, I use them frequently because they work.

More products that I have used up in the past couple of months

So, more products that I have used up in the past couple of months - probably over the summer if truth be told.

Sunday Riley Blue Moon Cleansing Balm - I have gone through two full sized tubs straight and have given myself a bit of a rest from this product, not because I have fallen out of love with it, but because I love it too much, and I zip through it if it was going out of fashion. For my skin, it just works, it is nourishing and hydrating. I have another pot to see me through the winter - my original thoughts here. £46 for 100mls

Margaret Dabbs Foot Hygiene Cream - another regular purchase for me, although for some reason I haven't lately, maybe the cooler weather. What I like about this product is that it removes and then prevents build up of dry skin on the feet by simply massaging it in everyday. Original thoughts here £18 for 100mls jar

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water - I never got Bioderma, it just didn't suit me. This is cheaper and more effective. To be honest I only ever use it after my main makeup remover to check everything is off, it is almost a redundant step, and often it leaves my skin a bit too wet, almost an unwelcome cold and wet wakeup call after my soothing massaging of my current cleansing balm/oil, but sometimes I want the extra insurance, especially if I am going to follow on with a mask of some sort.

Omorovicza Copper Peel - I am very dubious about using any sort of abrasive exfoliant nowadays, my skin just can't take it any more and my thread veins have a nasty resemblance to ice skates on an ice rink. This is a two-phase product, a green paste applied all over and quickly followed by the clear gel which makes a sort of foam. There is no irritation at all, and my skin looks brighter, end of. £90 for 16 tubes, I use less than a third every couple of months or so.

Omorovicza Gold Eye Lift Cream - A very lovely, very nourishing eye cream. I find that Omorovicza does light but dense textures very well. I am not sure that I would repurchase this eye cream because I found my samples of the Blue Diamond Eye Cream by Omorovicza more suited to my needs. I can't find this on the Omorovicza website so maybe it is no longer available.

Nude Advance Renewal Eye Cream - I do have a bit of a thing about eye creams. This one is a repurchase several times over because it does slightly tighten, comes in a pump, is light enough to use am, but rich enough to use pm £48 for 15mls.

Products I have used up in the past couple of months

A few cleansers and a day moisturiser.

Tata Harper Purifying Cleanser - I used this am only. It is quite zingy, and maybe it is a bit too zingy for my skin. I used the Refreshing Cleanser with great success, and that maybe simply due to the smell, Refreshing is grapefruity and Purifying has a slightly more astrigent note to my nose. It is £49 for 125mls, and lasted me about 4 months of am only use.

Omorovicza Hydra Melting Cleanser - this is a delight, a sheer and utter sensorial pleasure from the heavy jar to the bouncy gel texture, to the light herbally scent (for me Omorovicza does the best scents of all skincare lines). Read Ruth's review, for an indepth review. I have repurchased this because I love it. £65 for 100mls, I used this am, pm, pre and post makeup removal, for makeup removal, when I wanted a lift...

Oskia Renaissance 360 Anti-Ageing + Brightening Supreme Cream - I bought this because I needed a day cream and this seemed to fit the bill, but then I bought another day cream from another brand and sort of forgot about this and then felt I had to start using it because it wasn't cheap and so I started to use it in a bit of a grump really. But the product won me over. I have a tendancy to favour thick dense textured moisturiser and forget that maybe a lighter textured cream would be better for my oily skin, this is lighter and almost serum like in texture but is very hydrating. It sinks in but not without trace and allows for layering of sunscreen and primer. It worked very well for me over the summer. £65 for 40mls.

Votary Cleansing Oil - Original thoughts here. I was really suprised by how much I liked using this after being a die hard cleansing balm user, it removes makeup and is a delight to use. It also lasts ages and ages. £45 for 100mls.

Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm - supersized, this is a whole 100mls rather than the 50mls jar that I have previously used and spoken about here. It is a very nice treatment cleanser really. It removes makeup but is too special for that I think. I use it intermittently when my skin or my sanity needs extra comfort. £80 for 100mls

Harvey Nichols Biggest Ever GWP

I read about this on Caroline Hirons blog  on Tuesday of this week. Hummed and hawwed about it for a couple of days, ordered it yesterday before 3.00pm for free express delivery and it came this morning.

Ruth from amodelrecommends has listed the items here  and I have llisted them below with my attempts at finding the prices around from my internet trawl. Some things I have left off because I cannot find them, some things are not full size, others like the EOS lip balm are a limited edition so at a higher price. It comes to around £568 with my reckoning. There is a Cloud Nine £20 off voucher which I haven't included and an Environ £20 voucher which I haven't included and that would make it up to £600. HN state it is £600 worth.

Foreo, Luna Play = £29
Ouai Deluxe Dry Shampoo, 40ml = 130G is £20 so ~£7
Delarom Aqualixir, 40ml= £57

Starskin Kelp Foam Cleanser, 50ml = £21.95
IDC Regen Express (serum)  = £40.95

Mario Badescu, Drying Lotion = £13
Dr Hauschka Bath Essence = 10mls = ~ £3
Ole Henriksen Truth Serum, 7ml= 15mls = 23.50 so 7mls = 11.75

Rodial, Dragons Blood Eye Mask = £39
Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash, 60ml = £7

Trilogy Vital Moisturiser, 20ml =  ~ £10

The bag is fabulous - I have shown it below filled with the items so one can see it in context.

To purchase one needs to spend £195 on at least 3 items from the Beyond Beauty section.
Here is what I bought.

Omorovicza Blue Diamond Eye Cream

Okay I make no bones about this being an expensive product. It is £165 for 15mls. I haven't purchased it, I don't have that amount of spare cash, but I have secured 4mls worth of samples decanted into a little pot, see below.

And my little pot has lasted me the best part of six weeks, am and pm use.

The eye cream is designed to tackle dark circles, puffiness, wrinkles and upper eyelid sagging.

Now I don't have dark circles particularly, I can get a bit puffy first thing, and any eye wrinkles I have are not particularly bothersome. What I have is eyelid sagging. I have said before that I have awnings for eyelids - you know the pencil test for boobs? Well I could fit a pencil case under my eyelids, I can fold them over several times, and it is as it is, I can't afford surgery, so I make the best of it, ie no eyeshadow ever.

But but but, my month's use of this eye product has made a smidge, an imperceptible (except to me) shift in the space time continuum - I can see a tightening in my upper eyelid.

Now of course I should have taken before and after photos, but I didn't. I have secured another couple of sample sachets via a couple of orders from Omorovicza and I will start again but you know what? I am saving up because this product has worked for me and that is phenomenal.

The ingredients are: Aqua (Hungarian Thermal Water), Glycerin, Aqua (Water), Ethylhexyldodecanol, Squalane, Methylsilanol Mannuronate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Stearyl Heptanoate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Phosphate, Arginine, Saccharomyces (Hungarian Thermal Water) Ferment Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Albizia Julibrissin Bark Extract, Pullulan, Carbomer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Prunus Domestica Seed Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Methyl Glucoside Phosphate Proline Lysine Copper Complex, Tocopherol, Disodium EDTA, Tropaeolum Majus Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Parfum (Fragrance), Xanthan Gum, Copper Gluconate, Phospholipids, Sorbic Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Darutoside, Acetyl Pentapeptide, Diamond, Silica, Linalool, Limonene, Geraniol.

Omorovicza Omoressence

So I knew about essences from about the time that I knew about Japanese skin care regimes circa 1980s and SKII in particular, but being poor and rather intimidated by beauty counters, and online not existing then, I didn't explore further other than a cursory glance at ingredients.

I have used it for about four and a half weeks, am and pm, post cleanse and spritz/tone/exfoliate pad things; as per instructed I drip about four drops into my palm and apply to my face.

Now that is easier said than done, for this is a slim and heavy glass bottle, no squeezing allowed, and there is no means of getting at this fortified water other than upending this heavy bottle and dripping out the nectar. And then one has to get the bloody stuff onto one's face, with the texture of water that seems less than easy.

But easy it is for this does have a whisper of texture, a hint of solidity which allows for transference from palm to face and suprisingly a bit of slip to press and slide into the plains of ones face with little fuss.

Now to say that I am blown away by this product would be an exaggeration, but given that this is the only product that I have added to my routine, I have found that my skin looks better, and feels better - and by "looks better" I mean less visible pores, less visible thread veins, and by "feels better" I mean more hydrated - and I do scrutinise my face with a 10x mag mirror daily.

The scent is lightly herbal, and the texture is one up from water.

Ingredients below taken from packaging

In four and a half weeks of continuous 2x daily use, I have got to the top of the start of the Omoressence wording, so I have I reckon most of year's worth of use.

I don't really know why I bought this, I didn't feel the need for an extra step in my skin care, but I love a "new" and I took a punt on a trusted brand and for me it has worked very well.

£75 for 100mls

Show and tell

I have recently made a few skincare purchases and rather than frightening the horses by posting a video, this seemed the best way to show them.

And here they are sans packaging. A couple of Omorovicza, an Oskia and a Sunday Riley.

Omorovicza Omoressence -  I have been using this for about a month now and will afford it a post all of its own for I am more than delighted with this fortified water I suppose I would call it, very hydrating.

Oskia Renaissance 360 Cream -  I bought this in the hopes of addressing the age spots which run rampant across the perimeters of my face, and with the more clement weather approaching, one's thoughts turn to lighter textures in skin care and on a first couple of goes this seems to be ideal for me, but again a fuller post when I have been using it.

Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Cream - I almost feel as if Sunday Riley could package up scrapings from the floor and I would buy unseen and untried, for that is exactly what I did with this new moisturiser. I have to finish another moisturiser before I can start this and on a first trial I feel that this will be a pm moisturiser for it has a hint of oiliness about it which I fear may not sit well under makeup, however I need a more consistent, regular use before I can comment fully.

Omorovicza Hydra Melting Cleanser - I had my eye on this for sometime, and really need a new cleanser like a hole in the head but then Ruth AMR posted this and I was sold. I have used it but once because I have a few to use up first.

Cult Beauty Summer Goody Bag

I received this over the weekend. A plethora of skin and makeup products, some full size, some sample sizes and some teeny tiny, but too cute.

I was keen to try the Fiberwig Mascara, and the Nudestix Lip and Cheek Colour. I am currently on an SPF50 obsessive journey so the Alpha H is a welcome addition to try and the Anastasia Clear Brow Gel is already a staple.

The bag is a beautiful ocean blue, certainly no ocean lapping on British shores is this colour!

I am a bit of a sucker for a good bag and have to say that having purchased each of the Cult Beauty Bags from winter of last year and spring of this year, each time they have not disappointed, and the bags themselves are very good quality.

In order to qualify for this (free with a £95 or over spend), I purchased Tata Harper Refreshing Cleanser (£60) and Omorovicza Mineral Concealer (£35).

I have wanted to try Tata Harper cleansers for a while and this one piqued my fancy - I have tried it as a second cleanse although I do have these sorts of cleansers coming out of my ears. So far so like but I need to try it more in order to decide if it is a repurchase or not.

The Omorovicza Mineral Concealer was another longed for but un-needed purchase, but searching for concealers like searching for bases is a long and arduous task and one does need to try and experiment and reject many before finding a success. On my first few trials I like the shade - Ivory is a yellow but a neutral yellow to my eye. The texture is cream to powder and the coverage is good. Again I need to try for longer to give a full review. The packaging is glorious.

Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm

It is indeed a sad old day when one comes to the end of a product, or specifically in my case a cleanser, or even more specifically a balm cleanser.

For me, this is the closest that I get to a treatment cleanser, a cleanser with knobs on, a product which does the biz and the rest, it goes the extra mile if you like.

It is a balm in that one needs to scoop it out of the reassuringly heavy glass jar, but this is not a mimsy flim flam of a balm which emulsifies at the merest whiff of water - not that there is anything wrong with those sorts of balm cleansers - no this is a full on oily balm which needs to be massaged on and hot clothed off, no water necessary.

To my nose, the scent has a bit of orangey blossomness and mud, for Hungarian mud is a high up ingredient, pleasant, warming, comforting.

The texture looks granular, a little like one has taken a pumice and ground it up, but whilst there is a texture, it is a whisper, the feel on the skin is one of an rich oily balm.

And it is grey, and it applies grey to the face, which is somewhat disconcerting.

Now this is my third empty jar of this product. Initially I savoured it, for at £46 for 50mls it is not conducive to my usual twice or thrice pm application. But goodness it is such a joy to use, it really is an absolute pleasure, from the glass jar, to the richness, to the scent, to the texture and feel on the skin, I get huge pleasure at every sensorial level, my skin feels cosseted, and I feel satisfied.

So I don't use it regularly for my first pm cleanse, sometimes I do but invariably I will go in with another balm cleanser and then luxuriate in this cleanser.

Fortunately I have another jar waiting in the wings.

Currently £46 for 50mls

Minatures

I have a thing about minatures, not samples but minatures of the full size product, down to the glass jar (thank-you Omorovicza and Oskia) or glass bottle (thank-you Aurelia).

Sometimes the minature is an improved version on the full size - Sunday Riley Start Over Eye Cream I am looking at you with your metal applicator missing from the full size.

Above is a small selection of some of my gift with purchase products.

Omorovicza Rose Lifting Serum and Radiance Renewal Serum

I have come to the end of these two serums from Omorovicza. I have a few products that I have purchased from Omorovicza, which is a higher price range than what I can afford on a day to day basis, but the textures and scents are sublime and with a judicious use of discount codes and present requests I have been able to explore the range a little.

If one purchases from the website there is always a choice of sample sachets which although are too small to see any effect on the skin, give enough to decide whether texture and scent are pleasing enough to consider a full size purchase.

So I have used the Radiance Renewal Serum am and the Rose Lifting Serum pm.

They are incredibly light in texture and very "wet" if that makes sense, I suppose really serums are meant to be light and wet, with a texture which allows for easy spread around the face but not for full on massage so that the ingredients can sink into the skin.

Photographed below one can see the texture, the Rose Lifting serum is marginally thicker but it is marginal.

I have tried to show the slight pink sparkliness which is the pro ruby crystals as one of the key ingredients in the Rose Lifting Serum.

These are undoubtedly very lovely products, they are light, instantly hydrating and easily absorbed.

They are housed in heavy glass bottles with lockable functioning pumps, with a gentle scent which does not irritate or jar.

There is a little pilling of subsequent products in the morning but given that I am applying sunscreen, serum, and moisturiser as well as primer and foundation that is hardly suprising, it is minimal and I can live with it.

Rose Lifting Serum ingredients:
Aqua (Hungarian Thermal Water), Glycerin, Corundum (Pro Ruby Crystal), Phospholipids, Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Pullulan, Saccharomyces (Hungarian Thermal Water) Ferment Extract, Carbomer, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Mica, Sodium Hydroxide, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, Ethylhexylglycerin, Chlorella Vulgaris/Lupinus Albus Protein Ferment, Pectin, Silica, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Tripleurospermum Maritima (Sea Mayweed) Extract, Rosa Damascena Flower Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Flower Extract, Sorbic Acid, Dextran, Caprooyl Tetrapeptide-3, Linalool, Geraniol, Citronellol.

Radiance Renewal Serum ingredients:
Aqua (Hungarian Thermal Water), Glycerin, Saccharomyces (Hungarian Thermal Water) Ferment Extract, Alcohol Denat., Mannitol, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Niacinamide, Benzyl Alcohol, Carbomer, Zinc PCA, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Chlorella Vulgaris/ Lupinus Albus Protein Ferment, Nasturtium Officinale Flower/Leaf Extract, Phospholipids, Yeast Extract, Xanthan Gum, Dehydroacetic Acid, Pectin, Parfum (Fragrance), Linalool, Limonene, Eugenol, Geraniol, Citronellol, Benzyl Benzoate.

If my budget allowed I would repurchase these, they are £80 and £75 respectively for 30mls, and the pump pumps out a very little amount although amply sufficient, which means that these have both lasted me a good five and half months of daily use.

Omorovicza Illuminating Moisturiser

I have finished this up, and I am rather sad. This is a light but deeply hydrating moisturiser.

I think what has suprised me using this product is just how hydrating it is, for it really is a light slightly gel like in texture.

I have showed it spread out below.

And then rubbed into my lizard like hands below.

This applies as a layer over a serum, and allows a primer and makeup to be applied over the top without pilling or product roll off.

I can't say that I have noticed any particular illumination of the skin post application, but I have noticed that my skin is cool, comfortable and calm. I have used this throughout the autumn and winter months without any feeling of deprivation on my skin. The product is housed in a heavy glass bottle with a pump which suprise suprise works until the end of product and the scent is gentle and soft and all encompassing without any stridency to it.

Ingredients:Aqua (Hungarian Thermal Water), Glycerin, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Squalane, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Olivate, Stearyl Heptanoate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Corundum (Pro Ruby Crystal), Sorbitan Olivate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Saccharomyces (Hungarian Thermal Water) Ferment Extract, Mannitol, Phenoxyethanol, Malpighia Punicifolia (Acerola) Fruit Extract, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Prunus Domestica Seed Extract, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Parfene, Geranium (Fragrance), Tocopherol, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Linalool, Phospholipids, Yeast Extract, Chlorella Vulgaris/Lupinus Albus Protein Ferment, Pectin, Limonol.

This is currently £85 for 50mls

Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist

I like a good toner, a facial mist, spray, spritzer, whatever one wants to call it, the idea for me is not a step to remove the last remnants of makeup and general grime, frankly if my cleanser can't do that on its own, then it is time to get a new cleaner.

Queen of Hungary Mist is by Omorovicza and is based on the Queen of Hungary Water produced for Queen Elisabeth of Hungary in the fourteenth century.

I already have my replacement.

For me this is a freshing, hydrating type of toner, almost like an incredibly light serum. It has a light orange blossom/neroli scent and a hint of a zing, and the spray mechanism has a wide arc so that I find one can spray in the centre of the face once or twice to find all areas are equally covered.

Ingredients: Aqua (Hungarian Thermal Water), Glycerin, Polysorbate 20, Phenoxyethanol, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Saccharomyces (Hungarian Thermal Water) Ferment Extract, Disodium EDTA, Ethylhexylglycerin, Mannitol, Malpighia Punicifolia (Acerola) Fruit Extract, Chlorella Vulgaris/Lupinus Albus Protein Ferment, Pectin, Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Flower Water, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Water, Phospholipids, Yeast Extract, Linalool, Geraniol, Citronellol.

This is around £46 for 100mls and I find it lasts me around three months of daily use.
